Blaze tears through caravan and a number of sheds during early hours

A blaze has torn through a caravan and a number of sheds in Fife during the early hours of Friday morning.

Emergency services were alerted to the fire on Lansbury Street in Kirkcaldy at around 4.36am.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service dispatched four engines and specialist resources to tackle the flames.

After ensuring the area was safe, crews left the scene at 6.20am. There were no reported casualties.

Images from the scene show flames ripping through numerous sheds and smoke billowing into the sky close to a row of houses.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 4.36am on Friday, August 1, to reports of a caravan on fire on Lansbury Street, Kirkcaldy.

“Operations Control mobilised four appliances and specialist resources to the scene, where firefighters extinguished a fire affecting a caravan and a number of sheds.

“There were no casualties, and crews left the scene at 6.20am after ensuring the area was safe.”
