An attempted murder investigation has been launched after a man was struck by a vehicle in Edinburgh.
Emergency services were called to the hit-and-run on Lochend Drive at around 9.50pm on Tuesday.
A 36-year-old was taken to hospital for treatment following the incident.
The vehicle involved fled the scene.
Detectives are treating the incident as attempted murder, and an investigation is ongoing to trace the vehicle and driver.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9.50pm on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, we were called to a report of a collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle on Lochend Drive in Edinburgh.
“Emergency services attended, and the pedestrian, a 36-year-old man, was taken to hospital for treatment.
“The vehicle failed to stop at the scene. Officers are treating the incident as attempted murder, and enquiries are ongoing to trace the vehicle and driver.”
