A man has been charged following an alleged chainsaw attack in West Lothian. 

A 35-year-old man was taken to hospital after suffering serious injuries at around 10.10pm on Wednesday night.

A 37-year-old man was also hurt during the incident at Rowan Place, Blackburn. 

On Thursday afternoon, police said a 23-year-old man had been arrested in connection with an attempted murder. Officers have now confirmed he has been charged. 

A spokesperson said: “The man is expected to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday.  

“A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.”
