Arrest made after reports of 'man with weapon' near retail park

An arrest has been made after emergency services received reports of a man with a weapon in Stirling.

Police were called to the scene near Springkerse Retail Park at around 10.55am on Friday.

A 20-year-old man was arrested nearby, however officers did not seize a weapon.

No one was injured, and the man was charged in connection with the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 10.55am on Friday, July 11, we received a report of a man with a weapon near Springkerse Retail Park in Stirling.

“Officers attended and a 20-year-old man was arrested nearby.

“No one was injured and no weapon was recovered.

“The man has been charged and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
