Armed police were called to an Asda car park in Edinburgh after a large group were seen brandishing knives.
Emergency services were called to a report of males with weapons causing a disturbance in a car park in The Jewel area of Edinburgh around 4.20pm on Wednesday.
Footage shared on social media showed a large gang brandishing what appears to be knives at each other before fleeing.
Armed police attended, and a search was carried out. The gang were not traced.
Police said there were no reported injuries, but extensive enquiries are ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 4.20pm on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, we were called to a report of males with weapons causing a disturbance in The Jewel area of Edinburgh.
“Officers, including specialist firearms officers, attended and a search was carried out; however, the males were not traced.
“There are no reported injuries.
“Extensive enquiries are ongoing.
“Anyone with any concerns or information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting incident 2488 of Wednesday, February 25, 2026.”
