Armed police called to home after reports of 'man with weapon'

Armed police were sent to a home in Edinburgh on Friday after reports of a man allegedly wielding a weapon.

Emergency services were called to the Murrayburn Green area of the capital at around 4.30pm.

Officers attended the incident but no weapon was recovered.

A 50-year-old was arrested on a warrant for a separate matter.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 4.30pm on Friday, October 10, we received a report of a man with a possible weapon within a property in the Murrayburn Green area of Edinburgh.

“Officers attended and no weapon was recovered.

“A 50-year-old man was arrested on warrant for a separate matter.”
