A manhunt has been launched after a person was spotted outside a home with a weapon in Fife.

Emergency services were called to Benarty Avenue in Crosshill at around 7.10am on Thursday morning following reports of a disturbance outside a property.

Armed officers are also in attendance at the scene due to the nature of the incident. No one was injured following the disturbance, however, a search for the man is under way.

Investigators are looking to speak to people who may have witnessed the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.10am on Thursday, 17 October, 2024, police received a report of a man in possession of a weapon, causing a disturbance outside a property in Benarty Avenue, Crosshill.

“Officers are in attendance and a search of the area is under way. There are no reports of any injuries and enquiries are ongoing.

“Officers are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area around this time who may have witnessed the incident.”
