Armed police and dog units swoop in on street for raid

Armed police have swooped in on an Edinburgh street as part of a “pre-planned operation”.

Dog units have also been called to a property in Lochend Avenue within the city’s Leith area on Sunday morning.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Officers are currently in attendance at an address in Lochend Avenue, Edinburgh, as part of a pre-planned operation. 

“Enquiries are ongoing.”
