Police are appealing for a driver who may have witnessed a fatal crash to come forward.

A 65-year-old cyclist died after being struck by a white Vauxhall van on the A70 near Harburn in West Calder on Friday.

Officers investigating the incident are now keen to speak to the owner of a silver or grey pick-up style vehicle who was in the area at the time of the collision.

Emergency services attended the incident that took place at around 8.45am on May 2, and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sergeant Fraser Mitchell said: “As our investigation progresses, it has now been established that a silver or grey pick-up style vehicle was in the area around the time of the crash.

“It is possible that the driver may have information that would assist our enquiries and I would ask that they come forward.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101.
