An air ambulance has landed in a Tesco car park after a pedestrian was struck by a car in Edinburgh.

Emergency services were called to the Meadow Place Road area following reports of the incident on Wednesday morning.

The Scottish Ambulance Service sent two ambulances, a paramedic response unit, a critical care unit and an air ambulance to the scene.

Police and medical crews are still in attendance. The seriousness of any injuries remains unclear.

An investigation is ongoing.

The Scottish Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 09.05 to attend a road traffic collision on Meadow Place Road, Edinburgh.

“We dispatched two ambulances, a paramedic response unit, a critical care paramedic, and an air ambulance to the scene.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson added: “Around 9.10am on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, we were called to a report of a crash involving a car and a male pedestrian within a car park in the Meadow Place Road area of Edinburgh.

“Emergency services are in attendance and enquiries are ongoing.”
