The A1 has been closed in both directions near the Scottish Borders following a crash involving three vehicles.
The road, which is the longest numbered road in the UK, has been fully closed between Grantshouse and Cockburnspath in Berwickshire.
Police say the crash took place around 3.40pm on Monday.
Drivers are being urged to avoid the area.
A Police Scotland statement read: “The A1 is currently closed between Grantshouse and Cockburnspath, following a three-vehicle crash, which took place around 3.40pm.
“Motorists are advised to avoid the area at this time.”
Traffic Scotland added: “The A1 between Grantshouse and Cockburnspath is currently closed in both directions, due to a road traffic collision.
“Road users are advised to use an alternative route and allow extra time for their journey.”
