Motorcyclist seriously injured in Edinburgh bypass crash

A motorcyclist has been seriously injured in a crash on the Edinburgh city bypass.

The smash, which involved another vehicle, happened at the Calder junction at 4.15pm on Wednesday.

Rush hour delays have been caused and the road has been closed heading eastbound.

Tailbacks are stretching back to Hermiston Gait as well as onto the M8.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “It appears the motorcyclist has been seriously injured.

“We would advice commuters to use alternative routes.”
