Police are hunting a man caught on camera with a Venetian blind allegedly shoved down his trousers.

Northamptonshire Police released CCTV footage of the individual believed to have stolen the blind which he tried disguising by stuffing it down a trouser leg and up a jacket.

The alleged theft took place in Dunelm Mill, Nene Valley Retail Park, Northampton.

Police believe the suspect entered the store between 2pm and 2.25pm on Sunday before leaving without paying for the blind.

The blind appeared to be concealed up the back of his jacket and into his hood, police said.

Security guards from the shop followed him to a nearby canal path, where the suspect dropped the blind, damaging it, before making off.
