Donald Trump has won the Republican presidential primaries in all five states that voted on Tuesday – Connecticut, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Rhode Island.

Trump declared himself the Republican “presumptive nominee” after the results.

Speaking at a victory rally in the lobby of Trump Tower in New York, he said: “It’s over. As far as I’m concerned it’s over.”

The victories bring him closer to the number of delegates he requires before the party’s national convention in July.
