Donald Trump has won the Republican presidential primaries in all five states that voted on Tuesday – Connecticut, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Rhode Island.
Trump declared himself the Republican “presumptive nominee” after the results.
Speaking at a victory rally in the lobby of Trump Tower in New York, he said: “It’s over. As far as I’m concerned it’s over.”
The victories bring him closer to the number of delegates he requires before the party’s national convention in July.
Hillary Clinton has secured victory in Maryland, Delaware, Connecticut and Pennsylvania in the Democrat race.
However, Bernie Sanders has won the Democratic presidential primary in Rhode Island.
