Mattress blocks busy M74 as officers 'spring' into action

Officers “sprung into action” to remove a discarded mattress which was blocking the busy M74 on Friday.

At around 10.30am on Friday morning, Traffic Scotland reported that a mattress had been spotted on the motorway, between Junctions 1 and 2 southbound.

Not ones to take it lying down, road policing officers were dispatched to the scene.

The issue was resolved by 10.40am.

The Traffic Scotland social media team quipped: “The incident has now been put to bed.”
