A body has been found in the search for a woman missing from South Ayrshire for more than two weeks.
Laura Wilkie was last seen at around 8.30pm on Monday, December 18 in the Millennium Bridge area of Ayr.
The 43-year-old was initially reported missing earlier that day, having been seen in Alloway at around 3pm.
On Thursday, police confirmed that the body of a woman had been found early in the afternoon on January 4 in the Rozelle Park area of Ayr.
While she has yet to be formally identified, Ms Wilkie’s family have been made aware.
The death is being treated as unexplained.
