Cyclist, 12, injured in crash with bus

A 12-year-old boy has been injured in a road crash in Lochwinnoch.

He was cycling along the A760, Kilbrnie Road, near a bird sanctuary when he was involved in a collision with a bus.

The boy was taken to Paisley's Royal Alexandra Hospital and later transferred to the Southern General in Glasgow - his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

A female passenger on the bus was also slightly injured. She was taken to hospital but released after treatment.

The accident happened at around 12.30pm on Saturday.

Strathclyde Police appealed for witnesses to contact them on 01389 822042.
