Mr Newall was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident. The 43-year-old female driver of the Mazda involved in the crash, which took place around 10.40pm, was not injured.

Police Scotland said the relatives of Mr Newall, who was from Larkhall, have been made aware and a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
