A man has died following a disturbance at a flat in Dundee.

Emergency services were called to the property in Dundee’s Provost Road at about 1.15pm today following reports of a disturbance.

On arrival they found a man, understood to be in his early 50s, seriously injured.

Despite the best efforts of paramedics the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A woman, also understood to be in her 50s, has been detained in connection with the incident and is assisting police with their inquiries.

A Tayside Police spokeswoman said: “The address has been cordoned off to allow a detailed examination of the scene and door to door enquiries are being carried out.”

She added that the man’s details will not be released until he has been formally identified and next of kin have been informed.
