A 24-year-old man has appeared in court in connection with an attempted robbery which left an 83-year-old woman with a broken leg.
David Sheehan is accused of wrestling Stella Smart to the ground as he tried to steal her handbag, causing her to fall over and break her leg.
The attack is alleged to have taken place on Caledonian Road in Perth, close to the Morrison's supermarket, on Thursday evening.
Sheehan appeared in private at Perth Sheriff Court on Monday.
He made no plea and was remanded in custody.
Mrs Smart was taken to Perth Royal Infirmary for treatment after the alleged attack.
