A shift in the type of video games people want to play is set to benefit a Dundee company.
The multi-million pound gaming industry is increasingly turning to quick games accessible on any platform, from the smartphone to the home computer.
Outplay Entertainment, which started operating in Dundee last year, produces small and addictive games for smartphones.
Tone Brennan, senior producer, said: "It's been a big shift I think we've seen in the mobile world and in the social gaming world. We've seen people really want to play a game quickly, they want to have a lot of fun and as quickly as they can and then go onto the next thing.
"That's compared to console games when you've investing a lot of time and money to sit there and get hours of entertainment.
"That's not the game we make. The mission of the company is to make these games as accessible as possible no matter what — phone or PC or Mac or whatever you want to play it on."
It's positive news for Dundee's digital economy which was left shaken when gaming firm Realtime Worlds collapsed in 2010, making 150 people redundant.
