A former Black Watch soldier who has raised over £1m for charity is uniting Rangers and Celtic fans by taking them on a 115 mile desert trek.
Jock McInnes, from Scone, in Perthshire, is heading to the Gobi Desert to raise money for charities associated with Old Firm legends Jimmy Johnstone and Davie Cooper.
The trip will also include a football match against the Mongolian national team in their home stadium in the capital city, Ulan Bator.
Rangers legend Willie Henderson is one of the group of 20 who will be joining Mr McInnes in making the 4300 mile journey from Scotland to the Gobi Desert.
The epic trip aims to raise money for charities associated with two late football icons - Jimmy Johnstone and Davie Cooper.
After the football game in Ulan Bator, the group will embark on the gruelling trek through the Gobi Desert, which will culminate with a desert game of football against Nomad tribes.
All funds raised by the trek will be going to the Davie Cooper Centre for young adults with learning difficulties and the Motor Neuron Disease Scotland charity, after Celtic legend ‘Jinky’ Johnstone died of the condition.
The group leave from Glasgow on Saturday night before flying from Heathrow to Moscow and then on to Ulan Bator in Mongolia.
