Cyclist dies in fall despite wearing helmet

A cyclist has died after suffering a serious head injury when he fell from his bike on a road in Perthshire.

Daniel Pace, 31, from Edinbugh, was riding along an unclassified road from Amulree to Kenmore when he came off his bike at about 3pm on Saturday.

Tayside Police said he was wearing a cycling helmet at the time.

Paramedics treated Mr Pace at the scene but were unable to save him and he died shortly after they arrived.

No other vehicles are thought to have beeen involved and his next of kin have been informed.

A sudden death report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
