The leisure centre at a Dundee hotel where a guest contracted potentially deadly Legionnaires' disease has been given the all-clear by environmental health officials.
So far 134 staff and guests at the Landmark Hotel’s facilities reported feeling unwell after Legionella bacteria was found there.
One man was admitted to Ninewells Hospital with Legionnaire's Disease while the leisure facilities have been closed for almost a month since the outbreak.
NHS Tayside confirmed on Friday that the required control measures are in place and the centre can open for business after it closed on March 17.
Dr Finn Romanes, NHS Tayside consultant in public health medicine, said: “We have identified 134 people who work in or have visited the Landmark since early March who report having had a flu-like illness.
“We are continuing to work closely with hotel management in this ongoing investigation.
“Dundee City Council environmental health officers have confirmed today that all required control measures have been taken and the leisure club can now be re-opened for use.”
