A body found on a beach at Johnshaven in Aberdeenshire is being treated as unexplained.
The body was found by lifeguard crew during a search for a missing woman at around 9.30am on Thursday.
Grampian Police confirmed that formal identification was yet to be carried out and that the investigation was at an early stage.
Coastguard personnel from Stonehaven, Montrose, Arbroath and Carnoustie had been involved in searching the coastline, along with two lifeboats from Montrose.
