A young man has been arrested in connection with a sex attack on a 15-year-old girl.
Central Scotland Police said the man had been arrested following the alleged assault in the Boyd Street area of Falkirk at around 11pm on Friday, October 12.
The man is expected to appear at Falkirk Sheriff Court in connection with the incident on Wednesday.
A police spokeswoman said: "Incidents of this nature are extremely rare and I thank the public and the media for their assistance."
The street where the attack took place is located close to the Union Canal in the town.
