Body found in nature reserve by police searching for missing man

Euan Wright: The 30-year-old was reported missing from his Dundee home on Saturday.

A body has been found in a nature reserve by police searching for a missing hillwalker.

Euan Wright, 30, has not been seen since Saturday and Tayside Police launched a search for him.

At around 2.15pm on Tuesday, the police recovered a body from the coastline at Fowlsheugh nature reserve near Stonehaven, in Aberdeenshire.

A spokesman confirmed the body has been flown to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, although the dead man has not been formally identified yet.

Mr Wright is known to be a keen hillwalker and ornithologist, which relates to zoology and in particular the study of birds.

It was understood that he died after falling while photographing bird life.

He was reported missing from his home in Dundee at the weekend. He is believed to have left his house wearing outdoor clothing.

Inquiries into the death are continuing and the police said a report on the incident will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
