A 78-year-old has died and two other elderly women badly injured after a car collision in Perth and Kinross.
The two-car crash involved a silver Renault Laguna and a blue Mazda car.
The crash happened around 10am on Friday at Tibbermore on the unclassified road which runs from Perth to Madderty.
The woman who died is understood to be from Perth and was pronounced dead at the scene. Her details have not yet been released.
She was a passenger in the Mazda along with four other elderly women.
Two other women from the same car, aged 82 and 83, have been taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee. Their injuries are described as "serious".
The others, aged 77 and 83, sustained slight injuries and were taken to Perth Royal Infirmary for treatment.
A spokeswoman for Tayside Police said the 24-year-old woman driver of the silver Renault Laguna was taken to Perth Royal Infirmary suffering from shock. Her passengers, two one-year-old girls and a three-year-old boy were unhurt.
The spokeswoman added: "Road closures have been put in place in the area, affecting all access routes and crash investigators are attending at the scene to carry out inquiries into the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
"Tayside Police would appeal for anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident, and who either saw the collision or the vehicles involved prior to the collision taking place, to contact them 0300 111 2222."
A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal in due course.
A spokeswoman for Tayside Fire and Rescue Service said two crews from Perth had been sent to the scene and that hydraulic cutting gear was being used to free casualties that were initially trapped.
