A 17-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by a man in the street in broad daylight.

A man in his late 50s is being sought by police after he assaulted the teenager on Scott Street in Perth at about 1.20pm on Monday.

The victim was not injured but was left shocked by the incident, a force spokesman said.

The man is described as between 55 and 60 years old, 5ft 7ins tall and of medium build.

He was wearing a purple T-shirt and dark denim jeans.

Detectives are reviewing CCTV footage from the scene.
