An 84-year-old woman has had jewellery stolen by a bogus caller to her home in Boness.
The crime took place between 2.30pm and 3pm on Thursday at her house in Ochilview Place, Boness.
A man offering to buy gold entered the house and stole items of jewellery.
At the same time another man was seen to visit houses in the same area distributing leaflets with 'Aberdeen Gold' written on them.
Police are keen to trace both men. The first is believed to be about 30 years of age, 5ft 10ins tall, medium build, with short dark curly hair and a chubby face with long sideburns joining into a beard.
He presents himself as well mannered and was wearing a dark suit, shirt and tie.
The second man is believed to be between 40 and 50 years old, 5ft 8ins to 5ft 10ins tall, medium build and may have an English accent. This man was also well presented.
A Central Scotland Police spokeswoman said: "The public are reminded to verify the identification of anyone attending at their house offering any form of service."
