Andy Murray delivers another gold: Postbox painted in honour of tennis ace

Andy Murray will have a postbox painted gold in his home town to honour his new status as an Olympic champion.

The 25-year-old became the first Briton and the first Scot to take home a men's singles gold medal after defeating Roger Federer in straight sets on Sunday.

A red postbox in Dunblane, Perthshire, will be covered in gold paint on Monday morning by Royal Mail to mark his achievement.

A special gold medal stamp has also been produced, featuring an image of Murray mid-shot on his road to victory.

The stamps will be on sale from lunchtime on Tuesday in more than 500 post offices in the UK.

Royal Mail will be painting one of its red postboxes gold to celebrate every Team GB and Paralympics GB gold medal win.

The boxes will remain in use and customers will be able to post mail in them as normal. They will later be repainted in traditional red.
