Police have issued a warning after a series of incidents at a disused railway yard in Perth.

Fencing has been damaged, sleepers set on fire and objects placed on the railway line at Tulloch Yard.

British Transport Police (BTP) has appealed to the public for information.

Constable Mike Tunney said: "It beggars belief that people can be so completely irresponsible to vandalise and trespass on the railway. They are putting themselves in real danger and the potential consequences are frightening.

"I am appealing to anyone who has information regarding the identity of those responsible for these incidents to get in touch with BTP as a matter of urgency. These are extremely foolish actions by those involved and as a result BTP has increased patrols in that area and are warning youngsters to stay well away."
