Amateur and professional chefs from across the globe are gearing up for this year’s World Jampionships in Blairgowrie.
It is the second year the competition has been run to highlight the berry industry in the area.
There are three categories, raspberry, strawberry and blackcurrant.
Entry to the competition is now open and the judging will take place at the Dundee Food and Flower festival in September.
Lyn Smith, an organiser of the event, said: "I think people have got this thought that it's quite a difficult task to do but it's very easy. It's only sugar, fruit and we've got an abundance of fruit in this area. Why shouldn’t we be trying to encourage people to make their own homemade jam.
"Unfortunately our weather hasn't been terribly kind to us but by making jam it proves it's another way you can use berries even if they're not at the perfect condition."
