Adventurer Mark Beaumont has been joined by members of a folk band as he kayaks and cycles to a music festival.

The Whisky River Boat Band are playing the main stage at the Big Tent Festival on Sunday.

The event, at the Falkland Estate in Fife, is an environmental music festival and the team are helping promote their sustainable transport plan.

The group set off from Cramond on Friday, jumping into kayaks as they make their across to Forth to Aberdour. They will then mount their bikes and cycle to the festival.

Jed Milroy, Toby Shippey, Joanna Jeffries, Gavin Taylor and Marty Camino from the Whisky River Boat Band were joined by Mark Beaumont.

Helen Lawrenson, from the festival, said: "It’s great news that Mark and the band are willing to travel to the festival without using any engine power. We are encouraging all of our festival goers to think about the environmental impact of transport to the festival and this sets a great example for everyone else.

"We can’t wait to welcome them all onsite and look forward to hearing about their adventures when they get here."
