A doctor who looked at a picture of a patient's breasts for longer than required and carried out a sexually motivated examination has been struck off.
Dr Balamurali Krishnan Loganathan, who worked at Ninewells hospital in Dundee, had faced a number of charges before the General Medical Council.
The Panel sitting in Manchester determined that he had “presented, and continues to present, a risk to female patients”.
As a result it was decided that his fitness to practice was impaired and his name would be removed from the medical register.
Dr Loganathan had faced a number of charges which were found to be proved including that he looked at a picture of a patient’s breasts in her medical records for longer than required.
He was further found to have placed a patient’s right and left feet between his legs and against his crotch in an examination which he did not obtain or offer a chaperone for. In addition it was found that the examination was sexually motivated and inappropriate.
In 2008, the same doctor received a warning to "refrain from any form of physical contact which his colleagues may find offensive".
NHS Tayside has confirmed that Dr Loganathan no longer works at Ninewells.
The misconduct occurred when he was an employee of Dundee University working on a contract for NHS Tayside.
A spokesman for Dundee University previously said: "He resigned from the university in June last year following a lengthy suspension while the NHS investigated claims against him."
