An original watercolour painting worth £3000 has been stolen from a framers in Perth.
The valuable piece by Scottish 19th century impressionist painter William McTaggart was taken from The Picture Frame Maker at the city’s Skinnergate between 5pm Thursday, May 17 and 11am Saturday, May 19.
The painting measures 20ins by 16ins and was in an old gold coloured frame.
A spokeswoman for Tayside Police said the force is keen to trace two males seen in the area at the time.
The first man is described as aged between 40 and 49 years, 5ft 8in tall, of stocky build, with short shaved brown hair and wearing a large heavy workers jacket with a luminous stripe on it.
The second male is described as also aged between 40 and 49 years, 5ft 5in tall, of average build, with grey hair, wearing a mid thigh length dark navy jacket, possibly with a furry collar.
