**A 48-year-old man is due to appear at court in connection with thefts from six homes in Fife.
Fife Constabulary said the man was expected to appear at Cupar Sheriff Court on Monday.
Detective constable Jim Soutar, who led the inquiry, said extensive police work had led to the arrest after homes in the north east were targeted between April 27 and May 17, including Falkland and Colinsburgh.
He said officers had also been able to recover some of the property taken.
He said: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank the public for their assistance in this and in other inquiries.
"The public have a key role to play in the prevention and detection of crime and I would urge anyone who sees anything suspicious to contact Fife Constabulary straight away, either directly on 0845 600 5702 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111”.
