Woman dies after car accident in Glasgow

A woman who was hit by a car in a city centre has died.

The 37-year-old pedestrian was struck by a Chrysler Sebring in Bothwell Street, Glasgow, outside Barclays Bank at around 4.20am on Friday.

She was taken by ambulance to Glasgow Royal Infirmary but died later in the day.

The 44-year-old man driving the Chrysler was not injured but was left badly shaken by the incident.

Strathclyde Police appealed for information about the incident.
