A teenage boy was attacked by a gang of youths in Glasgow's south side.
The 15-year-old was with friends in the Kingspark area of the city when the four male youths approached them and attacked them.
The attack, which police said was "totally unprovoked", happened in Castlemilk Drive, near Kingsbridge Drive, at around midnight on Friday.
The boy was taken to the Victoria Hospital for treatment, but was released on Saturday. His friends did not require medical attention, Strathclyde Police said.
Officers are now hunting the attackers, who were all wearing tracksuits and hooded tops.
Detective Sergeant Graham Strickland said: "This would appear to be a totally unprovoked attack which has resulted in a teenager sustaining serious but thankfully not life-threatening injuries.
"I'd like to speak to anyone who has any information that could assist us in finding the youths responsible for this assault."
