A man is in hospital in Glasgow following a rush-hour road accident in Queen Street in the city centre.

The pedestrian, who is understood to be 50 years old, was hit by a bus in the street at around 8.45am.

He was taken to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary by ambulance for treatment. While his condition has not been confirmed, it is understood that he was very seriously injured.

Police have not released the man's name.

Queen Street and other roads in the area were closed and diversions put in place as a result of the accident so that a full investigation into what happened can take place.

Yeah, saw this horrible accident. Can anyone confirm if this man made it, the policemen on scene were not too optimistic.
