A driver is in critical condition after his car was forced off the road in Glasgow.
Police said they were treating the incident in the Maryhill part of the city as attempted murder.
The attack took place around 11.30pm on Sunday August 30. The man was driving Audi S4 on Maryhill Road near the Kelvin Campus when the car was forced off the road by another vehicle and struck a wall.
The injured man was taken to Glasgow Western Infirmary, then later transferred to Southern General Hospital. Police said he is being treated for serious head injuries and hospital staff describe his condition as critical.
Police closed off a large part of Maryhill Road around Dawsholm Road to the north west of the city.
The incident seriously disrupted traffic in the city during morning in what is the main artery for traffic between Bearsden, the Kelvindale area and the city centre. Delays were running for at least 40 minutes.
Detective Chief Inspector Anne McKerchar said: "The investigation is at an early stage to establish the full circumstances surrounding this incident and to trace those responsible. Officers are currently carrying out enquiries in the area and checking CCTV footage in an effort to gather more details
"It appears that the injured man was driving his Audi S4 on Maryhill Road when the car was forced off the road by another vehicle and struck a wall"
