A 19-year-old man has been charged with murder following the death of the teenage grandson of a notorious Stirlingshire criminal on Sunday.

Police were called to the scene at Dalmore Drive in the Nethergate area of Alva in Clackmannanshire, at around 6.30pm.

The 18-year-old man victim was seriously injured and later died at Stirling Royal Infirmary. He was named by police as Barry Bradley, the grandson of notorious Stirling figure 'Big' Mags Haney.

She sprang to notoriety as an anti-paedophile campaigner in the Raploch area of Stirling, but was later exposed as a heroin dealer. She was jailed for 12 years for drug offences, and released last year.

Two men, aged 19 years and 23, were arrested and charged in connection with the weekend incident. They are expected to appear at Alloa Sheriff Court on Tuesday, July 27.

The 19-year-old has been charged with murder and the 23-year-old has been charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice.
