A man and a woman have died in a fire in a caravan park near Loch Lomond in Dunbartonshire.
Emergency services were alerted to the fire at Lagganbeg Caravan Park at Gartocharn at about 06.15am.
Ten firefighters attended and extinguished the blaze at a static caravan on the site. The bodies of a 65-year-old man and a 59-year-old woman were found in the burned out shell of the caravan and pronounced dead at the scene.
STV News Reporter Sharon Frew, speaking from the caravan park, said: "People in neighbouring caravans raised the alarm and tried to help put out the blaze. But the fire had too strong a hold.
"All that remains is the shell of the caravan. The two bodies - a man and a woman - were found when the blaze was extinguished."
A Strathclyde Police spokeswoman said there did not seem to be any suspicious circumstances at this stage, but an investigation has begun into the cause.
The Fire Investigation Team of Strathclyde Fire and Rescue is at the scene trying to establish the cause of the blaze.
A spokesman for the fire service issued a safety warning to caravan owners following the blaze. "We would urge anyone who owns a caravan to check all gas appliances are switched off at night, and to make sure they have a working smoke detector in the caravan, as they would have in a house.
"Strathclyde Fire and Rescue wishes to extend its sympathies to the relatives of the people who died in the fire."
