Police crash: the car ended up in the Forth and Clyde canal
A police car ended up in a canal after its driver lost control while responding to an emergency call.
The car left the road and ended up in the Forth and Clyde Canal in Kirkintilloch in East Dunbartonshire.
Strathclyde Police said two officers were inside but described them as "safe and well" following the crash at around 11pm on Sunday night.
A spokeswoman for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: "A car left the road and went into the canal at the stables at the canal in Kirkintilloch. There were two casualties with minor injuries and both were taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary."
A spokeswoman for Strathclyde Police said: "At about 11pm on Sunday whilst en route to a fast response call in Kirkintilloch the driver of a police vehicle lost control of the vehicle and ended up in the canal.
"Both officers are safe and well."
No further details were released.
In January, a car ended up in the Union Canal in Edinburgh after its occupants drove along its ice-covered surface for more than a mile.
