The line up for this year's T in the Park has been unveiled, with Eminem and Muse set to join already announced headliners Kasabian at the event in Balado in July.

Organisers made the announcement of the 2010 acts at a launch event in Glasgow. Around 85,000 people will descend on a corner of Kinross-shire for the festival during the summer.

Rapper Eminem is one of the biggest-selling stars in the world. His most recent album, 2009's Relapse, sold over 5 million copies and earned him his fourth Grammy award for best rap album. This will be his first time headlining a UK festival since his appearance at Reading in 2001.

Three-piece English rock band Muse headlined T in the Park's NME tent in 2004, and have since gone on to be one of the world's biggest bands, releasing their fifth album The Resistance to critical acclaim last year.

Kasabian were the first band to be unveiled for the 2010 line-up at the end of last year. They last visited Balado in 2007 with a headline set on the Radio 1/NME Stage and play T in the Park following their number one album last year.

Also set to play are US acts Black Eyed Peas, who were at the number one single position in the USA for 26 consecutive weeks in 2009, and Jay-Z, who has sold over 30 million albums in his home country and won ten Grammy Awards for his music.

Scottish acts Paulo Nutini, the Proclaimers, Calvin Harris, the View and Biffy Clyro are also on the bill, all of them making return visits to the event.

Other acts playing this year include Florence and the Machine, who recently won the Mastercard British Album award at the Brit Awards for the album Lungs, Welsh rockers Stereophonics and synth-pop act La Roux.

Geoff Ellis from promoters DF Concerts said: "We've got one of our best and most diverse line-ups to date, Kasabian, Eminem, Muse, Black Eyed Peas, Prodigy, Jay-Z, Florence and the Machine, Dizzee Rascal and Biffy Clyro and Paolo Nutini and Calvin Harris flying the flag for Scotland.

"I think it's the best line-up we've had in all the 17 years."

Asked for what was going to be his highlight he replied: "That is going to be a hard one, Black Eyed Peas from a show point of view,  Muse from a production point of view Jay-Z for the charisma, Kasabian for that big anthemic singalong factor, it's very had to choose but personally I think Florence and the machine will be fantastic and I'm looking forward to seeing her again, Empire of the Sun and Goldfrapp, it's difficult for me to choose so it will be difficult for the audience to choose as well, everybody will have their own favourites.

"It will be after the event that you choose what your favourite was."

Tickets for the festival, being held between July 9 and July 11, will go on sale at 9am this Friday.
