Woman indecently assaulted as she waited on a bus

A 52-year-old woman has been left with a facial injury after she was indecently assaulted at a bus stop near Glasgow’s O2 Academy concert venue.

The incident happened after she became unwell whilst waiting on a bus at around 11pm on Friday near Eglinton Street.

A man approached offering assistance and walked with her for a short distance before carrying out the terrifying attack and running away.

Police say the woman is in a very “distressed state” and was not able to give a description of the suspect.

Detective Sergeant Fergus Hutcheson at Helen Street CID is appealing for anyone with information to contact police.
