Tommy Sheridan is predicting that he can pull off a shock win in the Glasgow North East by-election.
The Solidarity Candidate told STV News that he has had a great response from local voters and he cites the scandal over MPs expenses as a reason why electors will desert mainstream parties on November 12.
Mr Sheridan said: "I think the result of this by-election will say a lot about the disdain and the disgust that ordinary people have for so-called mainstream politicians.
"They have got their greedy snouts in the trough. They have been fiddling expenses left right and centre and what they get is a wee tap on the wrist.
"If it was anybody in the real world they would be getting sent to jail for what they have done."
The candidates who will contest the Glasgow North east by-election are:
Charlie Baillie, British National Party
Willie Bain, Scottish Labour Party
Eileen Baxendale, Scottish Liberal Democrats
Mev Brown, Independent
Colin Campbell, The Individuals Labour and Tory (TILT)
Ruth Davidson, Scottish Conservative and Unionist

Mikey Hughes
David Kerr, Scottish National Party (SNP)
Louise McDaid, Socialist Labour Party
Kevin McVey, Scottish Socialist Party – Make Greed History
