A man has been stabbed after an apparent road rage incident in South Lanarkshire.
Strathclyde Police said a 37-year-old man was driving on Blantyre Farm Road, near Blantyre and Uddingston, when a ‘road rage incident’ occurred.
The man sustained stab wounds to his leg and body and was taken to hospital where he received treatment. The suspect is described as a white man who is approximately six feet one inches tall.
He was in his mid-20s and of slim build. He was wearing a dark baseball cap, dark tracksuit bottoms and had an eyebrow ring in his left eyebrow.
His passenger is described as white male, stocky build, approximately five feet ten inches tall, with short scruffy brown hair. These individuals were travelling in a dark blue or purple Renault Clio car.
Police added the vehicle either had a hole in the exhaust or rigged in a way to give it a loud sound.
At the time of the incident a car, described as being possibly a Ford Focus estate, drove past. It was silver or light coloured. It is believed that this car was driven by a male with a female passenger who may have seen what happened.
Constable Gordon McNair at Hamilton Police is appealing for witnesses. He said: "I would urge anyone who witnessed this incident, in particular, the occupants of the Ford Focus to come forward. They may have information which could be relevant to this investigation."
