Eight arrested after £3.3m cannabis find

Eight people have been arrested after police recovered one tonne of cannabis resin worth £3.3million.

The Scottish Crime and Drug Enforcement Agency (SCDEA) are holding the men, aged between 29 and 53, on serious drug offences after the find in Paisley.

SCDEA officers, assisted by Strathclyde Police, recovered the drug from ‘commercial premises’.

All those arrested were charged with offences under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 and are presently detained in police custody.

A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
