An elderly man has died after a fire at his home in Dundee on Sunday night.
Firefighters were called to the blaze at Gardner Street at around 8.15pm.
The man, who has not yet been named, managed to get himself out of the flat and was found unconscious on the stairwell by fire crews.
He was treated by paramedics at the scene and was taken to Ninewells Hospital but he later died from his injuries.
The blaze caused considerable damage to the flat in the Lochee area of the city. There was also smoke damage to the common stairwell.
A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
